Why Jesmonite & Concrete?

When looking for a vessel to start my candle journey i found it very hard to find something both strikingly unique and re-useable on the market to pour my beloved wax creations in.

Research shows that only 8% of candle containers get recycled, and over 35 million candle containers end up in landfill every year. So Concrete and Jesmonite were chosen.

Concrete, Being Sand, Plaster and Cement is a very strong material to create my vessels with and this is still used in some of my vessels and homeware if the texture is needed.

Jesmonite is a water based composite material that combines natural mineral powder with a water based acrylic resin. Designed to mimic the look and feel of stone while being much lighter. Durable and strong, it’s highly impact resistant and much more durable than standard concrete. Non toxic and environment friendly. Suitable for indoor and outdoor with our sealant.

Due to the nature of Concrete & Jesmonite each item will have slightly different properties, some with small air bubbles which is part of the artistic process and what makes each candle unique and imperfectly perfect. There also maybe a slight variation in colour and design due to the pigment and way it’s poured.
